As the vibrant days of summer give way to the cooler, often more introspective months of autumn, many people experience changes not only in their environment but also in their mood and energy levels.
Bach Flower Remedies, a gentle and natural system developed by Edward Bach in the 1930s, offers a holistic approach to managing emotional well-being during this seasonal shift.
One of the key benefits of Bach Flower Remedies in autumn is their ability to support you through your emotional ups and downs, as we put the clocks back and our daylight hours decrease and routines change.
For some, the shorter days and longer nights can lead to feelings of sadness, lethargy, or even mild depression, commonly known as the “autumn blues”.
Remedies such as Mustard can be particularly helpful for those experiencing unexplained gloom, while Walnut is often used to assist with adapting to change, making it ideal for those struggling with the chilly and damp weather of Autumn (Autumn is often ‘flu weather!)
Autumn Bach Remedies
| Star of Bethlehem | This is the remedy for sadness and for shock and trauma. |
| Walnut | If you’re oversensitive to what’s happening outside of you, then Walnut will help you deal with the change of weather. |
| Mustard | If you have feelings of mild, or deep depression that comes on suddenly, and descend on you like a black cloud, Mustard will help. |
| Wild Rose | Helps if you’re apathetic and resigned to your situation in life, and you don’t try to change anything. |
Autumn can also bring about increased stress and anxiety as the pace of life picks up after the summer holidays, with work, school, and family commitments intensifying.
So again Bach Flower Remedies can come to the rescue!
Autumn Bach Remedies for Stress and Anxiety
| Larch | Larch is the remedy to boost your self-worth and give you confidence. |
| Mimulus | Is for the daily anxieties you know about. |
| Elm | For being overwhelmed by responsibility and you’ve lost your confidence. |
There is a Bach Flower Remedy for every negative emotion you have, I’ve just given you a few suggestions to help you.
These remedies are a safe, non-addictive way to nurture emotional strengths, bring peace of mind during autumn enabling individuals to embrace the season’s changes with greater ease and well-being.

Thank you dear Rose.
Your advice is very welcome. Quick fixes don’t work…. long term use and adaptive responses are the best way forward.
With love

Hello Barabra. It’s a pleasure to help.
‘Quick fixes’ work for acture problems, but your grief is not acute. Its deep seated, so yes, healing is going to take time and patience And, as you’ve mentioned ‘adaptive responses.
You could add Gentian to your Star of Bethlehem.
Gentian is for when we’re disappointed, discouraged or depressed as a result of a set back.
The loss of yoru darling dog is a set back. So that could help too.
Love Rose
Thank you for sharing your experience about the autumn season and the emotions that are exhibited due to the changes…I found the information about the gloomy feeling and lesser confidence interesting – making me aware of such reactions commonly seen…Rose, thank you again
Hello Shetall. Thank you for your kind comments. We are very sensitive emotional beings and all most everything has some sort of emotional effect on us. And lack of light with the change of time, or in winter has a huge impact on us. When you’re aware of these changes, you’ll see them everywhere! Take care and thank you again. Rose
